Early morning at Arches National Park in Southeast Utah. This area, though not far from Balanced Rock in the Windows section of the park, was quiet and unoccupied except for little lizards dashing across the coarse sand. My husband stayed behind in the parking area with the Gold Wing (motorcycle) while I took a trail in search of scenes that might work will in glass.
Black and gray powders are silk-screened dry onto white sheet glass for this piece. I used a palette knife to add the colors for the rocks, sand, and plants. The colors are also powdered glass, but mixed into a clear gel (Vitrigel).
